Bihar TRE 4.0 School Teacher Recruitment 2026
Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) · TRE 4.0
Exam Overview
Bihar TRE 4.0 is the fourth phase of the Bihar School Teacher Recruitment Examination, advertised by the Bihar Public Service Commission under Advertisement No. 15/2026 dated 22 September 2026. The commission notified 32,388 school teacher vacancies under the Education Department, Government of Bihar, cancelling the earlier Advertisement No. 14/2026 dated 18 August 2026. The drive covers Primary classes 1 to 5, Middle classes 6 to 8, Secondary classes 9 to 10 and Senior Secondary classes 11 to 12. The advertisement sets out the level-wise vacancies, subject eligibility, age limits, fee and selection process. Applications are accepted only through the BPSC online portal after One Time Registration. The online application closes on 26 October 2026, and the fee-payment cut-off is 25 October 2026. The commission has not announced the examination date in the advertisement; candidates should watch the official BPSC notice board for the programme. This page records only the details published by BPSC and does not estimate dates, vacancies or cut-offs. Always read the official advertisement and any later corrigendum before applying, because the commission can revise the vacancy matrix or the schedule.
Official previous year papers have not been published by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) yet, so there is nothing to link to here.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility depends on the teaching level. Primary teacher posts require the prescribed D.El.Ed or equivalent qualification with CTET or STET; Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary posts require the subject-specific qualification, B.Ed where applicable, and a valid CTET or STET. Candidates who are appearing in STET 2026 may apply under the self-declaration facility only if they meet the conditions in the official notice. The minimum age is 18 years as on 1 August 2026. The upper age limit is 37 years for unreserved male candidates and higher for women and reserved categories under Bihar government rules; the exact category-wise limit is in Advertisement No. 15/2026. Candidates from outside Bihar are treated under the unreserved category. All eligibility certificates must be completed by the cut-off date stated by BPSC. Full Syllabus & Preparation
Prepare level-wise rather than trying to cover every syllabus at once. First confirm the post level you are eligible for and download the official syllabus attached to Advertisement No. 15/2026. For Primary and Middle levels, give priority to the language paper, general studies and the subject component. For Secondary and Senior Secondary, revise the concerned subject up to the prescribed academic standard and keep the pedagogy portion separate. Practise previous TRE papers under timed conditions and maintain an error log for negative marking. Keep your OTR profile, photograph, signature, educational certificates and CTET or STET details ready before the last date, because application corrections are limited. Follow only the BPSC website for exam date, admit card and centre notices.
