BPSC 72nd CCE
Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) · BPSC 72nd
Exam Overview
The BPSC 72nd Combined Competitive Examination is the Bihar Public Service Commission's integrated recruitment exam for Group A and Group B state services, including SDM, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Excise Superintendent, Assistant Commissioner, Block Development Officer and allied posts. The commission advertised the 72nd CCE on 5 May 2026 and scheduled the preliminary examination for 25 October 2026. On 12 October 2026 the commission postponed that preliminary examination because of unavoidable reasons and said the new date would be announced later. The preliminary exam is a single objective General Studies paper of 150 marks taken in two hours, with 150 multiple-choice questions and one-third negative marking for every wrong answer. Candidates who clear the cut-off are shortlisted at ten times the number of vacancies for the main written examination. The main examination consists of General Hindi (100 marks, qualifying), General Studies Paper I (300 marks), General Studies Paper II (300 marks) and an Essay paper (300 marks), plus a qualifying optional subject paper. Admission to the main examination requires a separate online application and fee. This page records only what the commission has published; the new prelims date, admit card and any corrigendum will be added after BPSC issues an official notice.
Official previous year papers have not been published by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) yet, so there is nothing to link to here.

Full Syllabus & Preparation
Treat the prelims as a screening test: finish the Bihar-specific static syllabus, practise previous years' BPSC preliminary papers under a two-hour clock, and drill the negative-marking discipline because one-third of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer. For the main examination, build answer-writing practice around General Studies Paper I, Paper II and the Essay paper, and choose the optional subject early. Keep the BPSC notice board open for the revised prelims date and the admit card, since the 25 October 2026 date stands postponed.
